Summary:
The Stikine River offers paddlers a variety of waterways to explore where birds and wildlife abound. Jet boat transportation can be arranged for hire with drop offs up-river for canoe, kayak, or raft trips. Due to swift currents up-river paddling is quite strenuous and recommended only for very strong paddlers.

You can kayak or canoe from Wrangell across Eastern Passage. It is also possible to leave from Mitkof Island; 35.5 miles from Petersburg (old boat ramp off Mitkof Highway) and cross Dry Straight.
